| WHERE is my 'How-to-Live-Life Manual'?!!? | | |
| My final semester of in-class lectures marches forward, Despite my digging heels. Nevertheless, decisions need to be made Priorities need to be organized Dreams must be pruned. The questions I am asking God, Apart from personal ones pertaining to knowing Him more, are: Where is there need? Who is in need? (SEND ME, LORD) My requests, then, are: Lord, I want to know you more. And I want to make you known. May people come to know the breaking-in of your Kingdom through your life present in me. | | |
| What do we think about the call of suffering? Do we think only some are called to it? Are we terrified by it and make our decisions to avoid it at all costs Or Do we commit ourselves: To seek God in the midst of it To grow in godliness--our likeness and dependence on Him To teach people how to suffer in faith, perseverance, character, hope And to willingly walk with those who are? I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings becoming like him in his death, and SO, somehow, to attain to the resurection from the dead. Philippians :10-11 To know him in his resurrection implies death. | | |
| only God justifies i don't want the justification of others. i don't want my own. i want only to be justified in Christ by Christ for Christ. so Lord, speak. | | |
| 8What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.
I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ —the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. 10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. ~Phillipians 3: 8-11 All I once thought gain I have counted loss Spent and worthless now Compared to this: Knowing you, Jesus (Knowing You Jesus by Graham Kendrick) but these words are the song of my heart. Savor each line and let them all fill you with the only hunger worth satisfying. Friends, let nothing characterize our time and generation than for us to be men and women who love the Lord God, known must fully in Jesus Christ, who gives us His Holy Spirit, today should we ask. Let us not live in the mistaken stupor that somehow, today is not a gift from eternity. | | |
